Hey Shinning Stars,

so my Where-ToEat posts are back!! yey!

I collaborated with TheStyleCheapskate on this one and we had fun checking out the Afrocentric Madiba Antique Restaurant located at the Arts and Craft Village close to Sheraton Abuja

Madiba Antique is known for serving palm wine, freshly imported from my very own Enugu State, so that was the first thing our excited selves ordered. It cost N700 for a liter (a small jerrycan) which we thought was really reasonable

We looked through the menu, which also had fair prices, and all agreed it was too early for nkwobi. So we ordered for jollof rice and goat meat and plantain.

Since the meal is freshly made, we decided to look around and take pictures while we waited.

The interior of the restaurant is decorated with paintings, mats and sculptures and gives an African arts vibe. The manager of the restaurant described  the theme for the interior as functional art (art that can still used) as they had sculptures for furniture and mats and paintings as the roof.

While the interior is small it is surrounded by a large outside garden/sit-out outside

We spent roughly 20 minutes looking around and taking pictures and waited another 10 minutes after that before the food arrived (so it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready… way too long time) but it tasted delicious. The goat meat was soft and succulent, the jollof rice had that firewood taste in it that is synonymous to locally made jollof, and the palmwine was sweet.

9/10 for the taste of the food

6/10 for time spent waiting for food

9/10 for customer service

I think you should definitely eat there!  it is a nice, quiet and artsy place to go to have an African/International food and chill experience.

Let me know if you go ok?

Lots of Love

I have been there but their service wasn’t ok. They wpwroteote in their menu that a glass of Chapman was I think 800 and after I ordered they told me it was 1500 that its the small one ihat is 800 while big one is 1500. Imagine that and the guy was just standing there. Long story short I didn’t pay more than 800 but their food is very nice.
